West Kowloon Mediation Centre 西九龍調解中心
Located at the hustle and bustle district of Sham Sui Po, the facility aligns with the promotion and public education of mediation as alternative means to resolving disputes, which is high on the agenda of the HKSAR government. The architectural design reflects the special purpose of the building in providing on one hand individual rooms with designated routes to protect privacy of users and these individual rooms being embraced by the surrounding landscape that offers a natural buffer, visually and sensually. The aesthetic combination of bamboos, rock, stone and sand, in the courtyard gardens, realize a calm and tranquil atmosphere.
該設施位於深水埗的喧囂地區，與調解的推廣及公眾教育作為解決爭議的替代方法，是香港特區政府的重要議題。 建築設計反映了建築的特殊用途，一方面提供指定路線的個別房間，以保護用戶的隱私，這些獨立的房間被周圍的景觀所包圍，提供視覺和感官的自然緩衝。 竹子，岩石，石頭和沙子在庭院花園中的美學組合，營造出寧靜祥和的氛圍。

The West Kowloon Mediation Centre is located next to the Law Courts Building, which offers an alternative means to resolve disputes for early settlement and provides public education at the community level. The building comprises of mediation rooms and breakout rooms, staff office and a multi-purpose room for public events. Separate entrances are created to link up the Law Courts Building and provide access from the street.
西九龍調解中心毗鄰法院大樓，提供另一種方法來解決早期定居糾紛，並在社區層面提供公眾教育。 該建築包括調解室和分組討論室，員工辦公室和多功能公共活動室。 建立了獨立的入口，連接法院大樓，並提供從街道進入。
The form and composition of the architecture are unique and truly reflect the special function of the building. Each room in the premises is like an individual entity sticking out from the public circulation space. These little huts are tied-in by typical modules, which also makes construction fast, easy, and within budget. To enter the mediation rooms, users from different parties are provided with designated routes in order to protect their privacy. Two entrances are found in each room to allow individual access after their private discussion.
建築的形式和構成是獨特的，真實地反映了建築的特殊功能。 房屋內的每個房間都像是一個從公共流通空間伸出的個體。 這些小屋由典型的模塊捆綁在一起，這也使得施工快速，簡便，並且在預算範圍內。 為了進入調解室，來自不同方的用戶被提供指定的路線以保護他們的隱私。 每個房間都有兩個入口，可以在私人討論後進入。
[MEDITATION before Mediation]
The courtyard spaces and Japanese garden that punctuate alternately within the building bring the outdoor space to the interior. They offer the users a contemplative moment during the mediation process and serve as natural acoustic buffers.
The one-storey building is constructed entirely by steel structure and acoustic dry wall. Reddish orange aluminium corrugated sheet and metal mesh are used in exterior to commensurate with the surrounding landscape while bamboo flooring and white acoustic panel are used in interior to bring a light and peaceful atmosphere.
The arrangement of rooms in the premises facilitates natural ventilation and lighting penetration. Each mediation room is provided with private courtyard with greenery. Natural breeze flows to indoor through the large slide-folding doors. The interior spaces are flooded with natural lighting from corridor, skylight and courtyard spaces.
[調解前的冥想]
庭院空間和日式花園在建築物內交替點綴，為室內空間帶來戶外空間。 它們在調解過程中為用戶提供沉思的時刻，並作為天然聲學緩衝器。
這棟單層建築完全由鋼結構和隔音牆構成。 外觀採用紅橙色鋁瓦楞紙板和金屬網，與周圍景觀相稱，室內採用竹地板和白色吸音板，營造出輕鬆祥和的氛圍。
房屋內的房間佈置有利於自然通風和照明穿透。 每間調解室均設有帶綠色植物的私人庭院。 自然微風通過大型滑動折疊門流入室內。 室內空間充滿了走廊，天窗和庭院空間的自然光線。
