The Hannon Hotel is an Art Nouveau style mansion located in Saint-Gilles, a municipality in the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium.
The building was built from 1903 to 1904 for Édouard Hannon, and is the only Art Nouveau creation of the architect Jules Brunfaut.

History
Edouard Hannon, an engineer from the Solvay firm, painter, art critic and photographer, entrusts the design and construction of his future home to his friend Jules Brunfaut, asking him to use the Art Nouveau style of which he is a great amateur.
The hotel is occupied by the Hannon family until 1965: on the death of the owner’s daughter, the building is abandoned to vandalism1 and threatened with demolition.
In 1973, the daughter of Jules Brunfaut challenges the Royal Commission on Monuments and Sites and expresses his concern about the realization of his father, unoccupied for several years: the exterior of the building is then classified in 1976.
The building was acquired by the municipality in 1979, the interior was classified in 1983 and the building was the subject of a major renovation from 1984 to 1989.
In 19882, the Hannon Hotel was put at the disposal of the Contretype Photographic Space which, in addition to preserving the photographic work of Edouard Hannon (who was passionate about photography), promotes creative photography through exhibitions, retrospectives of artists and conferences and its publications. After having occupied the Hotel until 2014, Contretype moves to Cité Fontainas, another Saint-Gillois building

Architecture
The façades of Hotel Hannon combine white brick, Euville stone and blue stone.
The hotel has two strongly asymmetrical façades: a short one-span façade on Brugmann Avenue and a larger facade of two spans on Avenue de la Jonction, the two façades being joined by a triple corner span.
The facade of the Avenue de la Jonction presents a set of volumes set back and protruding. Its central bay has a large oriel (or bow window) consisting of a stone base, a small wood frame decorated with stained glass Raphael Evaluate and a roof covered with zinc, topped with a strong withdrawal floors pierced by a triplet of windows on the first floor and twin bays on the top floor.
The angle, consisting of three bays, is adorned with a remarkable balcony whose forged iron is supported by the cords of stone that rise from the ground to the first floor, where they “flourish in volutes”. The last level of the central corner bay is decorated with a large bas-relief by Victor Rousseau entitled The Spinner, which is an allegory of Time.

Decoration
The architect uses many artists for the interior and exterior decoration and decoration of the building.
The design of the furniture, now disappeared, and interior decoration is the work of Emile Gallé and Louis Majorelle.
